Meanwhile, Central Seven President, Joan Heintzman told the Star later that after- o Noon that she was unaware court action would be started to seek an injunction. She did say that Central Seven is moving ahead with its plans to set up the group home. A full-time manager has been hired, and renovations to the house are due to begin in the very near future. Central Seven has signed a lease agreement effective May 1 with the estate of the late owner of the house, and @ the organization is now in the process of selecting the eight persons who will live there. In other related news to the group home issue, Scugog council received two. letters from property owners on Gerrow's Beach asking for formal permission to rent to six boarders and also to lease to a religious organi- zation such as Hare Krishna. Mr. Charles Dewhirst and Mr. Bill Holland both appeared before council Monday evening to ask for permission to use their homes for these purposes. Mr. Dewhirst told council that if the by-law permits a house to be used as a group home for the mentally retarded, then it should also permit him to lease his home to a religious organization. Meanwhile, a public meeting sponsored by the Scugog Ratepayers Assoc- iation over the concept of group homes has been postponed, according to president Liz Perry. That decision was made late Monday afternoon. The meeting was to have been held this Thursday evening. At the council meeting Monday evening, Mr. Dewhirst said that he has learned that a group home for psychiatric out patients has been started in Prince Albert within the last few weeks.
