L 4 Stories about Christmas THE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS Christmas! It's here once again. Streets are lit up with shimmering lights and parades come rolling through the towns. Every- one is out doing their Christ- mas shopping with a broad smile. Rosey cheeks, tuques and mittens dart about the streets as old Mother Winter snows and blows away. But too often Christmas is overlooked, Remember, that it is the Lord's Son's birthday and that he should be respected greatly. So, this Christmas stop for a moment, bow your head, and say a prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ and God. by James Cawker Grade 6 - Prince Albert P.S. CHRISTMAS COUNTRY Once upon a time there was an elf who went for a walk in the woods. He came upon a. tree with a big hole. The elf walked in and fell down until he hit a river. The river led to a dark cave. It was one more day until Christmas so he had to get out in a hurry. The elf walked down the path and the path ended. There was a door right above him. When he opened it, Santa Claus was right in front of him and that's the way the elf got a job from Santa. Jason Buller Grade 3, Room 7 Prince Albert P.S. THE FUNNY CHRISTMAS There once was a funny Christmas. When it was Christmas we forgot to clean out the fireplace and Santa Claus got ashes all over his clothes and he almost got hurt but it is a good thing that he did not get hurt but do you now what he gave me? a funny pumper barber shop and he gave me a bird that you put together and we all had a happy Christmas. The End by Cindy Harris Greenbank P.S. Grade 2, Age 7 THE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS I think the meaning of Christmas is families getting together and the celebration of Christ's birth. I think its about the celebration of Christ's birth because he was born, and we celebrate his birth on December 25. That's why we have this holiday. I also think its when families get together. The families get together be- cause its a holiday or to give each other presents or just to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. There are many other things that other people think about for the meaning of Christmas, but I think these two are the best. Trevor McDonnell Grade 6 Prince Albert P.S. Prentice - Esso Dealer A) " nA "0, 7 4 7, Z, 7, 7, - N ~ WHAT I THINK OF CHRISTMAS I think of Christmas as holi- days, presents and a feast. Christmas is when you get out of school and every one yells "'horray". When the Christmas day comes we all run to the tree. Every body starts tearing away at their presents. Then nobody can wait till supper. When it comes everyone runs to their chair and says prayers. Father carves the big bird. No one can wait for their turn. After we eat turkey, apple sauce, potatoes or what ever we have a special treat. That's what I think of Christmas. by Peter Hoogers Grade 6 Prince Albert P.S. THE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS The meaning of Christmas to me is to celebrate Christ's birth. It all started when Mary was going to give birth to a baby who was Christ and had to find shelter. When they got to Bethleham they stayed in a stable. Then one night Christ was born. No one knows when he was born. So the people picked Decem- ber 25 for Christmas. Not everyone has to be a Chris- tian to believe that this is the meaning of Christmas. Another meaning of Christmas is that we have to let Santa Claus or Kris Kringle or what ever you want to call him bring presents. We have to give him a soft landing so he won't break the presents. So that's another reason why Christmas is in December. The End by Terri O'Neil Grade 6, Age 11 Prince Albert P.S. THE NIGHT Santa Claus got caught in the fireplace. We had to call the fire deparment then. We got him out. Then we went to bed. We had left a red sock for Santa to fill. The End. by Lorna Durward Greenbank P.S. Grade 2, Age 7 WHAT CHRISTMAS MEANS TO ME On Christmas Eve I heard some feet in my living room. I went into the living room to see who it was. [ peaked around the corner. It was Santa. I went back into my room. On Christmas Day I went into the living room. 1 was the last one up. No one had opened their gift yet. I went in to the living room and we started opening our gift. Christmas means to me to have fun. Renee Bertrand Grade 3 Greenbank P.S. WHAT CHRISTMAS MEANS TO ME Christmas is thinking of others. Christmas is sharing things. Christmas is going to church. Christmas is getting things from Santa Claus and others. Christmas is having a nice Christmas supper. Christmas is making things to eat. Colleen Yorke, Grade 3, Age 8, Greenbank P.S.
