The Sunday School concert will be held in the Church on Sunday evening Dec. 23 at Elsie Hooey, a long a faithful member of the congregation and Mr. Stan McNeely formerly of St. John's Pres- byterian Church in Toronto. These two new elders will add greatly in experience and dedication to the session. A report was given by Edna Wilson re-District meeting, and our delegate to the Cent- ral Ont. area Convention Marion Johnson gave a brief resume of proceedings. The Indoor Gardening Workshop has been completed. The leaders Helen McMaster and Mabel Cawker felt it was most worthwhile and all those taking the course parti- cipated well. This was an ideal opportunity to learn more about plants etc. whether you have a green thumb or just enjoy working with them. It has proven to be a very popular course. 37000 Indoor Gardening manuals were sent out by the Ministry of Agr. and Food for Workshops across the province. Programme Members answered the roll call by naming their favour- ite Christmas Carol Silent Night was a winner. The motto, The best inheritance a parent can give his chil- dren is a few minutes of his time each day was taken by Helen McMaster and she spoke on the International Year of the Child. Everyone enjoyed the humorous reading given by Mary Pickard. A Christmas contest was another feature and the winners were 1-Mary Hardy, 2-Alice Dodd. Lillian Harper in her inimitable style played the piano for. Christmas Carol singing also for the gift exchange. Gaily wrapped parcels were given out to the tune of Jingle Bells. The January meeting will be conveyed by Thelma McCreight family and Consumer Affairs theme, and will commence with a Dessert Luncheon at 1 p.m. Jan. 3rd, 1980. An excellent meeting closing with O Canada. Margaret Cornish took pictures of the Gardening Club. These are to be sent to Home and Country.
