We were saddened to learn oof the passing of a former teacher at the Greenbank Public School, Mrs. Mary Beddows. Several parents have expressed an interest in establishing a memoriam to the late Mrs. Beddows in the form of a trophy to be '® presented annually at the closing exercises or perhaps books for the school library inscribed with her name. Some time ago the Hall Board purchased over 100 new chairs and went to work labelling them in bold letters. On Saturday when the chairs were being set up it was noticed that one is missing. Would the person responsible please return it and no questions will be asked. Mr. and Mrs. George Harper and Mrs. Delia Har- per were Saturday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Harper of Osha- wa to celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary. Mrs. Don Hill and Mrs. Jim Miller of Mount Albert visited on Tuesday with Mrs. Mildred Thompson. On Wednesday evening news placed there by the family of the late Mrs. Elva Rodd. The Seagrave Community wishes to express sincerest sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Williams and sons upor the recent passing of Patty's father. The investment of new scouts will take place at the Seagrave Church on Nov. 17 at 5:00 and all family memb- ers of the boys involved are invited to a pot luck supper. Later on this month the senior cubs and the Scouts will be taking off for a sight-seeing trip of Ottawa, the parliament buildings, etc., under the leadership of Paul Saulnier. Two dates to be sure to keep in mind folks are Nov. 17 when the Scouts will be conducting a bottle drive and Dec. 8 when the Scouts will be out looking for papers for a paper drive. Watch for more news on this in the Coming Events section of this paper. Boys are to be at the Church at 9:45 a.m. both mornings. The white tailed Beavers are invited to assist in the bottle drive on Nov. 17. The Scout group committ- ee was also making plans to enter a float in the "You- Know-Who"' parade in Port Perry in December. The Seagrave Greenbank Ladies Auxiliary of Scouting will hold their next meeting at the home of Marianne Kronister in Greenbank on Nov. 21 at 8:00 p.m. The November general U.C.W. meeting will be held at the Seagrave Church Nov. 14 at 8:00 p.m. Mr. Allen Martyn will be showing his pictures on Australia. Mr. Smith, a farmer from Ward 1, has been a member of the committee for several goats, and served as vice- chairman. Also, councillor Don Crosier has been nominated to sit on the South Lake Simcoe Conservation Authority, while Mayor Jerry Taylor gets the nod for the Central Lake Ontario Authority. Both are already members of the board of the two authorities, and it is the policy of Durham Region council to only nominate elected politicians to the boards of conservation authorities.
