The August meeting of the South Ontario 4-H Beef Club was held on Tuesday, August 21 at the Brooklin Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Mountjoy host, ed the meeting commencing with the tour of the hospital. He then talked to us about the importance of nutrition in cattle starting from colost- Jum and creep feed stage and proceeding to a well balanced diet. We then talked about our achieve- ment day and all calves must be at the Port Perry Fair Grounds by 10:00 a.m. on Monday September 3. Dr. Mountjoy was thanked for the tour and a few ques- tions were asked. Our next meeting will be held at the farm of Mr. Robinson in Nestleton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11. All members and parents are invited and. asked to bring gloves and bats for a baseball game and corn or weiners to roast. Achievement Days The Port Perry 4-H Dairy Club and the South Ontario 4-H Dairy Club will hold their Achievement Day at the Port Perry Fair on Mon- day, September 3rd, 1979. At the Uxbridge Fair on September 8th, 4-H Achievement Days will be held for the Uxbridge 4-H Dairy Calf Club, the Ux- bridge 4-H Goat Club and the Ontario County 4-H Field Crops Club. The Sunderland 4-H Dairy Club and the Sunderland 4-H Tractor Club will hold an Achievement Day on Sep- tember 12th at the Sun- derland Fair. Also the North Ontario 4-H Vet Science Club will be putting on an exhibit. The Ontario County 4-H Championship Show will be held on Friday, September Jdth, at 7:00 pm. at the Beaverton Fairgrounds.
