Tuesday champs The Tuesday evening mixed bowling league held their annual banquet and dance last Saturday evening in the Caesarea Hall and trophies and awards were distributed to the winners. This year's champs are, [from left] Patty Horn, Ches Efford, Ruth Grant and Bill Turner. Absent: Bob Barr. This year we started the season before March 1st. We _ had enquiries about a qualif- ying programme for soccer referees. The Durham Socc- er Referees Association arr- anged a Basic Referee Clinic sponsored by the Durham Region Youth Soccer Assoc- iation. The D.S.R.A. inform- ed us of the programme and I made arrangements for six registrations. Applicants from Port Perry were Mr. W.A. Huggins, Mr. Kurt Roane, Mr. Lodi Raffin and Mr. Kevin Haugen. I am happy to report that they all passed with flying colours and that we now have six 0.8.A. qualified referees handling games for the Scu- gog Youth Soccer Associa- tion. Congratulations. We are happy at this time to welcome Mr. David Giannini and Mr. David Saulnier who have joined our refereeing staff. Mr. Giannini is now refereeing on a regular wee- kly basis. May I take the opportunity at this time to encourage those interested in Soccer to consider becoming officially qualified through the O.S.R.A. next year. We started the season on May 16th with exibition games in all the age divisions and am pleased to report that we were able to provide referees for all games. -A referees schedule will be drawn up as soon as the PeeWee and Mosquito League schedules are finalized. Regular lea- gue games will begin on June 6th. We look forward to the FIRST AID St. John Ambulance is the official first aid training .agency for the Workmen's Compensation Board of NN + Ontario. Studies on their work in industry have shown Consolation winners that the incidence of on the job accidents drops in direct ratio to the number of employees trained in St. John Ambulance safety oriented First Aid courses. Consolation winners for the Tuesday evening league are, from left, Tim Casey, Denise Crawford, Denny Martyn, Doris Clark and Shelley Williams who was absent.
