Troubleshooters in third place The Port Perry High Sch- ool team of Robert Kemp and Dale Martin placed third overall in the Regional finals of the 1979 Chrysler Trouble Shooting contest held May 15 in Missassauga. The Contest consisted of two parts: a written exam to test automotive knowledge made up 40 per cent of the final mark for each team, while the rest was deter- mined by the students* per- formances in finding and repairing a series of mal- functions that had been del- iberately rigged in cars by Chrysler technicians. Trouble Shooting Contest is sponsered by Chrysler Canada, and the top teams from high schools in Missa- ssauga and Rexdale will now go on to compete in the Ontario playoffs this summ- er. The Port Perry High Sch- ool was under the direction of instructor Stan LeFort, and the local sponsor was Port Perry Chrysler. Mrs. Taylor recently gave a demonstration an chair caning for the Markham Historical Society at the Cedar Grove Community Centre. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Charlton of Agincourt visited her brother Mr. Baker on Wednesday. On Thursday his niece and nephew Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Henchey of Napanee visited him. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Butson were Friday evening guests with Mr. and Mrs. Murray Geer. Recent visitors with the Sutcliffe family were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Miller of Mississauga, Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Sutcliffe and Donald of Janetville and Miss Barbara Bray from Arthur. Mr. and Mrs. Hillis Wilbur and Lee were weekend guests with Mr. and Mrs. Ewart Willis in Sarnia. Mr. Ian Willis spent the weekend Utica and area at the Wilbur home while attending the races at Mosport. Mr. and Mrs. George Harper and Mrs. Delia Harper were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Harper in Oshawa. Mr. Russell Lindsey would like to thank everyone who called at his home on Satur- day morning and made it a most enjoyable visit. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to George Lindsey who is a patient in Lindsay Hospital and to Andrew Reusink who is in Peter- borough Hospital following an automobile accident on Saturday morning. Gary Osaduke was fortunate enough to be allowed to go home following treatment. Mr. Dale Beare recently visited his grandmother Mrs. Crosier. Mr. and Mrs. Eric Carre and family were in Bridge- north on Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. John Carre.
