We certainly do wish to convey The art of caning is not dead as Sandy Sinclair demonstrates. Sandy took park in the annual Arts and Craft Show on Scugog Island last Saturday. our thanks and appreciation to all the demonstrators who so kindly explained their talents and work. We also thank all those who brought displays of their art or craft and also to the ladies who provided food for a bake table sale. Any plants which were left will be taken to the Hospital Spring Fair this coming Saturday. Of all the "Draw" prizes, one went to Oshawa, and one to Whitby. The rest stayed on Scugog. The Emard family were particularly lucky, when they received 3, including the electric clock. Sunday was an interesting and informative day for the Scugog Pastoral Charge when a volunteer team of Miss Beatrice McLean and Mr. Ron Motum were sent out by the Oshawa Presby- tery to explain the work, and need for the mission and Service Fund which is used in many areas. PE cnamyons are being made for another busy weekend. You will find the musical concert for this Friday at 8 p.m. in the Island Church being advertised elsewhere. We understand costumes will dress up many numbers. So come and see how they handle the grass skirts, leis, hats, etc. as well as the music that goes with it all. Many tickets have been sold, so get yours early to avoid disappointment. Ask anyone in the choirs. Then Saturday we are all: off to the Hospital Spring Fair in Port Perry. Sunday of course is another big day at the Island Church when many of your relatives will be in the Church Parade and take part in the Service.
