In the seventh game Stouffville scored one in the first period, although Port tried their hardest they couldn't penetrate the Stouff- ville defence. Stouffville scored once more in the third, in the dying seconds of the game with Port's goalie pulled. Greg Warriner managed to bang one home at the buzzer. Final score 2-0 ° for Stouffville. - For the final wrap up of th year we travelled to Oshawa Saturday and Sunday for the Little NHL Tourney. On Saturday March 30 Port met Oshawa Red Wings and romped toa 7 to 2 win. Tim_ Cannon had his game of the - year with a hattrick and one (4 goals), Craig Menzies with two goals, Lee Wilbur had 1 goal. Chris Lane had two assists, Greg Warriner, Dave Burnett, Bobbie Goble, and Andy Sytsma each had one assist. House League Action MIDGET HOUSE LEAGUE I.G.A. vs. Peterborough Lumber I.G.A. took advantage of a short handed Peterborough Lumber club and defeated them 6 to 2. Craig Menzies scored two goals, Steve Durham had 1 goal and 1 assist, Jim White, ~~ ® Mike Johnson, and Tim Cannon each tallied 1 goal. Jay Yan Camp and Greg Warriner had 2 assists each. Dave Burnett had one. Later in the afternoon Port met Oshawa Blackhawks for a ' the championship. This team had beat us 3-2 to win our tourney. The Green Machine returned the favour and won their tourney 3 to 2. Port started in low gear as the Blackhawks scored 2 |) unanswered goals in the first period. Craig Menzies put Port back on track by scoring, assisted by Greg Warriner and Dave Burnett. Cannon set up Mike Johnson as he scored in the second. » Andy Sytsma scored what proved to be the winning goal on a good solitary effort set up by Jay Van Camp. Congratulations to Jim White who was chosen 'Most Valuable Player" in the g championship game and to Andy Sytsma who I thought defense. A team effort like this makes one proud to be a spectator. The Atoms thank Archie $e and Muriel Statham and Keith Gibson for the time and effort they have invested in this team and Neil and Noreen Malcolm our spon- sors. Quite a few of the Green Machine boys move up to ® Pee Wee next year but I'm sure they will have fond memories of this year's team.
