Because of his limited play his offensive production fell off to six points. George Burnett paced the attack with twelve. A sixteen point second quarter for the hometown Hawks pushed them into an eight point 26-18 lead. It was at this point that the Redmen defence appeared to collapse under the superbly co- ordinated, Hawks offence. The second half was no better for the Port Perry team as they began to make several key errors and commit numerous turn- overs. Several potential scoring opportunities were wasted as Port threw the ball away like it was a hot potato. Dave Dickson and George Burnett were leaders in this dubious category. Late in the game Henry Street also Juveniles in Tournament Continued Hastings. Port scored first on a goal by John Robertson from Scott Wilbur. Hastings replied twice before Port could tally, Steven Geer scored with the assist going to Tony Oxley. Hastings scored once more to make the score 3-2 at the end of the second. Although they applied the pressure Port was unable to score and with 1:31 left in the third Hastings tallied to make the final score 4-2. Merle Schewaga and Warren Nicholishen played between the pipes for Port. Come and watch the Juveniles as they take on their arch rivals Uxbridge, Thursday, January 11 at 9:30 at the Scugog Arena. z Legionaires Continued stone (3), Chris Larocca (3), David Kemp, Mike Dickson, Steven Lee and Howard Lee. Next game for the Legion: aires will be Friday, Janu- ary 12 at 9:00 p.m. in the Scugog Arena. Come out and lend your support, you won't be sorry. On Sunday, January 14 they travel to Beaverton. Game time 6:30 p.m. Please mark Saturday, January 20 on your calendar. The Legionaires are hosting a Pee Wee tournament in the Scugog Arena. You will see some very good hockey and the boys would enjoy your support. Wintario Tickets available at the Port Perry Star 985-7383 began to grab most of the available rebounds -- a fact that didn't help the visitors. Port Perry was also with- out the services of Curt Pinkowski who is ill. Coupled with Ireland's injury problems it left Coach Arend Dekker with just one front line player in Burnett. If both athletes are gone for an extended period of time it could become a real problem for the team as they don't seem to have a lot: of bench strength. The guard position, especially, is weak as Kevin Harris and Ireland are the only ones who have shown they can handle the back- court with satisfactory results. Up front Cam Muir and Rick Long can do a creditable job in Pinkowski's absence.
