PORT PERRY STAR -- Wed., November 8, 1978 -- 23 Ringettes drop exhibition games by Doreen Kendall Two exhibition games were played at the Scugog Arena on Saturday, Novem- ber 4th, 1978 between our 2 Junior Belle teams and teams from Whitby and Oro Twp. The first game saw the Children's Boutique coached by Dorothy Scott drop their game to Oro Twp. 9 to 3. The team played their best but the experience of Oro shone through. Scoring for Child- ren's Boutique saw Karen Young give a fine perfor- mance scoring 2 goals and picking up an assist. Brenda Foote picked up a single marker. Although the score might indicate differently Ports goalie Wendy Burton played a-sensational game. The defence finally found their own in the second period and helped Wendy These gals only lack expgrience so look out "Oro" Al be back fighting in our next encounter. Game two was a thriller from beginning to end. Ports "Chris Allen Aluminum" coached by Eileen Foote lost this squeaker 7 to 5 to Whit- by. Both teams put forth a super effort and showed the fans some excellent Ring- ette. Once again for Port, Sherri Allen was the big gun scoring all 5 goals. Chris English picked up 3 assists and Gail Sandison a single assist. Cindy Heurkins did an exceptional job in goal. Our first annual Fall 'Dance is now history and a 985-7771 "special bouquet" to Val Butt for making this dance a terrific success. Thanks to Peter Hvidsten of "Peters Platters' all the merchants and everyone who made our first dance such a tremen- dous event.
