SIDEWALKS The total budget figure for sidewalks is $12,000, and so far this year about $7,000 has been spent. A further $2000 worth of maintenance is scheduled for Ward 2. At the regular meeting . October 10, council approved the construction of the side- walk on the west side of the Oshawa Road from Alva to May Streets at an estimated cost of $1600. The financial report indi- cated that of the $27,550 budgeted for parks in 1978, $25,850 had been spent to the end of September. NEW TRUCK During consideration of the financial report, council approved the purchase of a new five-ton diesel truck and two plows to be used for snow removal in Wards 3 and 4. The estimated cost for this new equipment is in the neighbourhood of $25,000 and suppliers will be invited to submit bids.
