Port defeated Oshawa's Mr. Burger by a 5 to 4 score. This score was pretty well indicative of the play, with boys from both teams hitting hard and play- ing like they wanted to im- press their coaches before final team selections are Warren Nicholishen and Glen Archibald split the goal-tending chores for Port. Certainly, one of the pleas- ant surprises was the fine effort turned in hy Archi- bald, who to this point has had little experience in all- star competition. Offensive- ly, the Pat Johnson, Rob Cannon, Greg Kroonenberg line were effective with Johnson potting a pair of goals unassisted; Kroonen- berg got one from Cannon before the final buzzer, with Hal Storry carrying the puck deep into the oppositions' end and passing it out in front of the net -to Todd Wilbur, who flipped it in. Both teams got a little chippy at times and Port ended up taking 30 minutes in penalties to 28 for Mr. Burger. These pre-schedule exhibi- tion games are supposedly designed to give the coach a chance to evaluate his talent Dave Myers, Doug Potts, Pat Johnson, Dave Alexan- der, Greg Kroonenberg, Scott Heard, Todd Wilbur and Rob Cannon. Defence: Brad Hurst, Hal Storry, Mike Tobin, Charlie Brown, Mike Andrews and Brian Barr. Goal Tenders: Warren Nicholishen and Glen Archi- bald.
