Public meetings were held in those two communities' Correction A photo captian on page 20 in last week's edition of the Star said that Port Perry beat Yelverton for the Lake Scugog Softball Association championship. It should have read that Port Perry beat out Pontypool. The original plan for Blackstock recommended development of 22 new lots over a period of several years (in addition to in- filling of existing lots) and ° council now has agreed that up to 16 more lots could be allocated. Ten of these additional lots would be on a parcel of land north of Crestview Drive and west of Regional Road 57. This area had originally been excluded from future development because of what was thought to be unfavourable soil conditions -- name of: _ ANNOUNCEMENT J. lvan Purdy, and Douglas M. However, in agree- ing that the land could be included for ten new lots, council stipulated (hat access be from internal streets and there be no new entrances onto Regional Road 57. Also in Blackstock, the council agreed that a large" area originally designated as open space west of Scugog Street and north of the Re- creation Centre should be included for development. This would allow for a pos- sible four additional lots, but council stipulated that any development in this area must include a watercourse to insure proper drainage. Council agreed to expand a third development area in Blackstock, this one being to the south of Greensboro \_. The orjginal plans recom- mend six new lots in this area and council agreed to increase this number to eight. CAESAREA PLANS There were also several revisions made to the origin- al recommendations of the Caesarea plan, most notably an extensiom of Hiawatha Blvd. south behind the Fire Hall and then looping it back to the north to come out on Regional Road 57. This would allow for development of about 12 lots along the extension of Hiawatha Blvd. At the same time council agreed to eliminate the development of four lots immediately south of the fire hall, and a further four lots on the south side of Regional Road 57. A further revision calls for an expanded development 'area at the very south end of Summitt Drive increasing the number of lots allowed from four to eight. In doing this, council stipulated that if the parcel is developed, a public access to the lake- shore must be provided. These revisions to the development plans agreed to by the council will be now forwarded to the Durham Region Planning depart- ment. If there are no further changes, the plans for both Blackstock and Caesarea will be incorporated into the Durham Region Official plan. : Ashburn News Last Sunday at Burns church was communion ser- vice and even tho' there were some away on holidays there was a fair turnout. il i 4 | 3:00 to 9:00 P.M.
