Mr. and Mrs. Howard McMillan spent the week- end in North Bay with their daughter Helen and Gordon Mood and attended the wed- ding of their granddaughter Susan Hood. Mr. McCready has return- ed home from Minneapolis, USA where he attended a Convention of the Crypto gram Association. The euchre party was well attended on Friday evening wh®n Fran Gibson, Edna 'Rerry, Bertha Stives and Annie Clements were the winning ladies. Jim Gibson, Les Meyers, Irwin Kydd and Albert Timms winners for the gents. Next euchre will be held on Friday, September 8. Every- e welcome. ""Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Hill of Stouffville called on Mr. and Mrs. A McMillan recent- ly. Sympathy is extended to Art Couves and family in the death of his brother Eddie of Toronto who at one time lived in Greenbank. Mrs. Mona Mero, Myrtle Thomas and friend Roberta Thomas spent a week-end Horne in Listowel. Rev. and Mrs. Roundell have returned home from their vacation to the East Coast. We welcome them back. Church services will resume on September 3rd at 11:30 a.m. as usual. Sunday School classes will resume on September 10th. Several from this vicinity attended the Steam Show at the Uxbridge and Scott His- "torical Museum grounds on Saturday and 'Sunday and the Barbecue and Sports events at Epsom also on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Lee and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Smith enjoyed a trip to the Sault and the train trip to the Agawa Canyon returning via Michigan and visiting the quajnt Bavarian village of Frankenmouth. Mrs. Aleta Leask and her sister Mrs. Alta Tomlinson of Stouffville have returned from an enjoyable trip to the west coast. Highlights were a visit to the Buchard Gar- dens near Victoria, British Columbia and an overnight stay in Yellowstone Park. Theodore and Dorothy Cragg of Coboconk were dinner' guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Phoenix last Thursday. Roy and Edna Parrish of Sunderland dines with Mrs. Marjorie Beaton on Sunday. The afternoon unit of the U.C.W. will hold their meet- ing at the home of Myrtle Thomas on Wednesday, Sep- tember 6 at 2 p.m. Several relatives and friends attended the 25th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Michie in Little Britain recently. The Marsh Hill neighbours and friends gathered at the Couperthwaite home on Friday evening to honour Marion with a shower and congratulations on her approaching marriage. Keith and Margaret Jarvis journeyed north recently, calling on Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Orr at their cottage near Magnetewan and visit- ing with her parents at Callander. Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Clark of Prince Albert were dinner guests of Myrtle Thomas on Sunday. Harry and Arvella Phoenix, Harvey and Lila Shier dined with Howard and Irene Blanchard on Friday. Elect new Kin President Leonard Simms of Grand Falls, Newfoundland has been elected president of the Association of Kinsmen Clubs, suceeding Don Mas- terson of Blackstock. The 34-year old Simms who works for the Newfound- land government was elec- ted to the top post at the organization's annual cen- vention held recently in Regina. He is the first Newfoundlander elected to the post as national presi- dent. Mr. Simms will be the chief executive Officer for the country's only all-Cana- dian young men's service organization with 18,000 members in 600 communities from coast to coast. At the national convention in Regina, outgoing presi- dent Don Masterson an- nounced that Kinsmen Clubs across Canada provided their communities with more than $3 million, or an ayer- age of over $73,000 per club.
