Look- ing back over the past six weeks, I can honestly say that it was a fun-filled and thrilling time for all. I recall children involved in many sports and athletic activites, swimming, dress- ing up in many different costumes, parading and hiking here and there, part- icipating in arts and crafts and the biggest event of all - the children's Broadway hit, The Talent Show. We were fortunate to have many special visitors come to our programmes. I could not begin to list them, but to all of you who helped in your own special way to make our programmes exciting we thank you. The children also took a couple of tours, trips and adventures to the sites and we say thank you to all those involved for their co- operation and hospitality. I feel it has been a very successful summer. The daily attendance was stead- ily increasing during most of the program, except for the last two weeks and at this time many children went on holidays. Mr. Sun did his part by giving us all but four days of warm and sunshine. Before signing off I would like to thank the Recreation Committee for all their concern and support in mak- ing the programmes possible Plus a personal thank you for giving me the opportunity of a summertime. To all the parents of Port Perry, Blackstock and Caesarea and especially to those who helped out as volunteer drivers and help- ers it was greatly appreciat- ed. Congratulations are extended to Susan Gaston, Deb McLaughlin, Patti Gettins and all their assist- ants and to Jenifer Carrier and Vicki Ayers for helping to make the summer successful and providing entertainment for all the children. But our 'biggest thanks - loses goes to each and every one of the children for making the programmes a challenge and special in so many little ways. Never a dull moment. P.S. There was a blue jacket with red and white trim collar and cuffs left at the Port Perry playgroun®. It can be claimed at the municipal office.
