Port cam out flying like they did in the first game and defeated Schomberg 6-2. Port scored 5 straight goals in 'the first two periods before - Schomberg could react. he! Donny Young then scored on a three banger from Todd Wilbur to Bob Horton to Young, who popped it easily into the net. "On Sunday, the 19th, Stone Real Estate Pee Wees travelled to Elmvale to par- ticipate in the Elmvale Tournament. Port Perry played well in game one even though they came out on-the losing end, 4-2. 'In the first' period there was no scoring with Stones having a slight territorial edge. Midland opened the scoring at 1:30 of the second period. Port were quick to reply, within a minute Steve Dehaas scored with a fine shot from the point. Mid- land were hard pressed until the end of the period when Port ran into some penalties, allowing the op- position to score twice. In the final period Stones were soon on the scoresheet with a fine effort from Gregg, Williams assisted by Desau- tels. Port seemed to have the upper hand until late in the period when they again run into more penalties. This enabled Midland to score an insurance goal with only2:45 remaining. Port made every effort to come back but just could not put the puck in the net. In game two, Stones oppos- ition were from Thornbury. ; The local boys knew the Thornbury sweaters, having borrowed them in the Thornbury Tournament. This was a good effort with the Port lads coming out on top 6-0 to gain a place in the Consolation _ final. Port dominated play in the first period on goals by Darren Desautels (2), Vaughan Mc- Kee (1) with assists to Dickson, Dehaas, Ferguson, Cleveland, Williams and Desautels. In the second period it was all Port Perry again. Scoring in this per- iod were Kevin Fowler, Darren Desautels and Gregg Williams with assists to Williams, Stevenson, Dickson, Lee, Dehaas, and Dickson. again. The third period was scoreless with Port more intent on protect- ing the shutout than scor- ing.
