OBITUARIES Comrie Ward After a lengthy illness, on Monday, January 2, 1978. Comrie Ward, beloved hus- band of Edna Bower, dear father of Jeffrey and Greg- ory, son of the late Stanley Ward, of Uxbridge and dear son of Vera Walker of Toronto, brother of Wilda (Mrs. James Hyndman) of Toronto. Born and raised on the farm in Reach Township, Uxbridge, Comrie received his public and high school education in the area. In later years he was a resident of Toronto and a member, an elder of the Centennial Rouge United Church. Working for Supertest and subsequently B.P. Canada, his territory cover- ed much of Port Perry, Uxbridge and surrounding areas. For many years he vacationed at his summer residence Scugog Island. THOMAS H. HARDING Thomas Henry Harding of Little Britain, passed away suddenly at Ross Memorial Hospital on December 2, 1977 in his 80th year. Born in Darlington Town- ship, near Raglan to Annie Short and Reuben Harding, he was the youngest of six children; dear brother of Charles; Mary-Ann, William, Minnie and James all pre- deceased. He served in World War 1, enlisting March 12, 1915 in the 39th Battalion, Lindsay with the Canadian Expedi- tionary Force in France and Belgium. He was wounded and gassed and when dis- charged on April 25, 1919 held the rank of Sergeant. After the war he farmed in the Port Perry and Sea- grave areas until he retired 8 years ago. He served as Councillor of Reach Township and Reeve for many years and Warden of Ontario County for one year. The funeral was held at the Mackey Funeral Home, Lindsay, December 5, at 3:30 p.m. Interment at Pleasant Point Cemetary. The Pall-bearers were six of his grandsons: Terry and Christopher Harding, Larry and Barry Harding and Rick and Ron Pasnick. He leaves his beloved wife, Ethelinda Clarke and six children: Thelma (Mrs. - Brown) of Durham, Evelyn (Mrs. Peyton) of Oshawa, Ross of Lindsay, George and Bernice (Mrs. Pasnick) both of Whitby and Joyce (Mrs. Kranitz) of Montreal; 26 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. ALFRED FISHER Funeral services were held November 28, 1977, from Sallows and McDonald Funeral Chapel, for the late Mr. Alfred Fisher, who passed away November 22, 1977, al the age of 85 years. He was born January 5, 1892 at Ashburn, Ontario." He moved to the Meota district in 1922; and married Emma Kate Ball in 1927. He served in World War I, 28th Bat- talion from 1916 - 1919. Mr. Fisher was also a member of the Senior Citizens Club. He was predeceased by a son Lawrence in 1956. He is survived by his wife, Emma Kate Fisher; three sisters, Daisy Parrinder and Mae Leask of Myrtle Station, Ont. and Emma Fisher of Toron- to; two brothers, Alan of Oshawa, and Frank of Sunnbybrook, Ontario. Fun- eral services were conducted by Rev. Peter Fraser, with Sallows and McDonald Fun- eral Home in charge of ar- rangements. Pallbearers were Frank Mack, John Gabruck, Don MacLeod, Fred St. Marie, Gordon Wal- ker and Garry Walker. Hon- orary pallbearers were Delisle Clarke, Howard Mac- Arthur, Harry Clarke, Clar- ence Kitch, Larry Ball, Henry Carriere, and Ruben Martinson. Interment was in the Meota Cemetery, Meota, Sask.
