A special note of thanks went to Linda Cor- mack who took care of watering the hanging bask- ets which adorned the main street of Brooklin this past summer. She also extended her special appreciation to the local newspapers for their co-operation in printing the events of the society in 1977. Continued tries reported on the success- ful experiments that have been made on growing square tomatoes which will pack easier for shipping. Mrs. F. Innes reporting on Family and Consumer Af- fairs warned us to make sure that frozen sausage, hamburg and hot dogs were well cooked before eating. She mentioned when any of these items were ordered in a restaurant to cut them and if any pink colouring showed to return them to the kitchen for further cooking as this is when food poisoning could set in. The district meeting held in Brooklin 'recently was "reported on by Mrs. H. Hill. Mrs. D. McKean gave a resume of the activities of the 75th Anniversary Area Convention held in Foronto in November. - Both reports were very well handled. The group for the evening were Mrs. F.
