Although the . recent rains may have dampened the flowers, it certainly did not dampen Q the flowers, it certainly did not dampen the spirits of the members and they proved it by submitting seventy-eight (78) entries. ; President Marg Davis wel- comed those members pre- sent from the Oshawa Garden Club and thanked them for attending. She then introduced the guest speaker for the evening, Chris Gra- ham, of the R.B.G., Hamil- ton. He chose as his topic, "Fall Planting and Prepara- « tion of your Garden for Winter". He demonstrated the facility with which grow- ing plants may be propogat- ed and stressed in particular the economic aspect of this operation. * His subject was wisely chosen as saving money is' of prime impor- tance to everyone today, not just plant lovers. Mr, Gra- ham also showed some beau- tiful slides of the Royal Botanical Gardens including the famous Rock Gardens. He then answered questions on winterizing the garden and it was evident that he possessed extensive' know- ledge of his chosen subjects and imparted it to his aud- ience in a very straightfor- ward manner. Joan Brak thanked the speaker for his interesting and informative talk, -. 1 The judges for the show, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Tink, proved to be very helpful with their suggestions "on how the show entries could be improved upon.
