In an effort to find out how much or how little it would cost to completely outfit a -12-year old with new equip- ment, the Port Perry Star surveyed the Canadian Tire Store last week. } All the necessary equip- ment was priced in two lists: the first is the most expen- sive the store carries, and the second is the cheapest. And not surprisingly, we found that the difference between the two is almost double. In publishing the two different price lists it should be pointéd, out that all the equipment is brand new, and that it is very possible the figures could fluctuate if " parents shopped around. And of course purchasing second-hand or using equip- ment that older brothers have grown out of would reduce the total. However, as many parents are no doubt finding out these days, getting a 12-year old on the ice is not cheap, no matter how it is done.
