His command of the language is good, and he says the ex- posure he is getting to Eng- lish here is allowing him to improve all the time. Peter says that in Bavaria, all students study English with many starting in the lower grades. Grammar is covered for three years, then expressions, . sentences and their practical use. Carol, who'has completed one year of German in Port Perry High School says she had some difficulty with sen- tences and expressions, but her four weeks in Germany helped improve her ability to speak the language. She says with a smile, however, that 'Peter speaks better English than I do German." During his visit to Ontario, Peter will see the sights of Niagara Falls, Toronto and Ottawa, and this week he is enjoying a .camping and canoe trip to the Sudbury area. Peter is an active scouter in his native Ger- many. The students selected for the exchange pay $400 to- wards their air fare and transportation, The pro- vincial government contri- butes about $120 towards their expenses.
