Frank "Babe" Fielding at bat. Frank Fielding captures third Home Run Derby The 3rd annual "Home Run Derby" was held dur- ing the Western Weekend and Frank Fielding of Port Perry is the new champion. On Friday night the con- testants battled to gain top positions with Bill Fielding and Colin Wackett each gaining 15 points to lead the Wedding Invitations: available at the Port Perry Star 985.7383 batters. Andy Systma scored the one and only goal against the Uxbridge Whites last Thursday in Uxbridge resulting in a 1-0 victory. This was perhaps the hardest game this team has ever had. Playing one man short the first 15 minutes and having no reserves what so' ever, they still refused to accept defeat. Two of the teams key players were missing due to vacation forcing the re- maining boys and girl to play the full game with no rest on a hot and muggy evening. } Anybody who had the pri- vilege to see this game could not help but to admire their skill, determination and heart. Well done team, I'm proud of you all. The bombers will play Green Hornets drop game August 4th produced an : | interesting game for the Green Hornets, although they went down to a two nothing defeat. Right from the start it was ten Green Hornets against eleven of the Red team, After 15 minutes of good play by both teams, the first goal was scored. In the second period, the Reds had a penalty shot and goaltender Joey Jackman made a fantastic save, but the referee ruled that it went over the line.
