moose CEMITERIES Rommel for grant money from the provincial govern- ment for cemetery maintenance has been made by Scugog Township, but as yet no reply has been received. The issue was raised at the regular meeting June 28 by Councillor Vern Asselstine who suggested that a couple of students be hired to cut grass within cemeteries and do other up-keep and maintenance. This will be done wher and if the money is received from the province. ROAD SURVEY The issue of a survey of the road leading to Platten Island on Scugog was raised June 28. Council agreed that a survey of the road will be carried out by the Township if it is found there are no previous surveys of the area already registered. Council agreed that the survey, if carried out, should start far enough east to determine if a restaurant built by To * a marina operator is infringing on the road allowance, and also to help regulate car parking along the causeway leading to Platten Island. Mayor Lawrence Malcolm suggested that if the survey was to help control parking _ on the causeway, it should also include all of the road to * the end of Platten Island, and that no parking regulations along that section of the road would also have to be enforced. The problem of enforcing no parking regulat- ions on the roadway was discussed with Councillor Reg Rose stating that the OPP will ticket cars if there is a complaint, and if proper "No Parking" signs are erected. Council recognized that there may be a thorny problem if it is found that the restaurant owned by Phil Goreski is indeed infringing on the road allowance as a building permit for construction was issued by thé Township last year. POLICY FOR SEMI'S The collection of development fees by the municipal- ity for semi-detached units will be made before all necessary severances have been granted. The fee is $1000 per unit.
