The sanctuary was beauti- fully decorated with poinset- tia, wreaths, green bows and candles. Mrs. Pugh, the presi- dent, called the meeting to order and welcomed 22 ladies in attendance. Minutes of the October meeting were read and adopted. Treasurer Mrs. Gerrow gave a detailed report on the finances which showed an encouraging balance on hand for the new year. Correspondence reported 17 thank you letters received for bootees and 20 thank you letters sent out. Mrs. Webster reported 5 babies born in hospital since November 16 and wool will - be provided to anyone who would knit bootees for the nursery. Contact Mrs. Web- ster, 985-3120. Mrs. Crosier reported for the Tuck Shop and a sub- stantial sum was realized from the recent sale in the . Tuck Shop. Mrs. Lurch reported brief- ly from the Hospital Board and stated that the renov- ations had been completed in the hospital and parking ot. Secretary Ashburn and area news will be a different service than we have had and a lot of planning has gone into it, so we hope all who can will attend. On Christmas eve at 7 p.m., there will be a candle- light' service. The last two years we have had this'ser- vice, there has been a good attendance and it is a very impressive service. The Ladies Bible class held their December meet- ing in the form of a pot luck supper and the Men's Bible class, also husbands or "friends were invited. The tables were attractive- ly decorated with lighted candles and as usual the food was good. Mrs. W. Hopkins, presid- ent, chaired the meeting. Some Christmas greetings were read by the secretary, Mrs. D. Ashton. Mrs. R. Batten read the scripture lesson. Mrs. W. Davis was in charge of the programme and shared with us some very lovely Christmas poems and a beautiful story. These were intermingled by Christmas solos from Mrs. W. Reid, Mrs. and Mr. McEntyre. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Russ Batten, January 12th. The annual Christmas concert was held at the Community Centre on Fri. evening, December 17th.
