Wednesday: Dec. 22, 1976 win Port vs Uxbridge at Port (Dec. 14): Port managed to edge by a very stubborn Uxbridge team, 45 - 40. This was a come from behind effort for the Port team. Defeat Uxbridge in dull game By Andrea Jones It was ithe, hot hand of Lindsay goalie that contri- buted to the Flamingos 5-3 loss in Lindsay on Friday night. The score could have been 6-0 in the first period had it not been for Jamieson. Scoring for Port Perry were Larry Page, Bob Sin- clair and Sandy Cameron. The score was tied, 3-3, until midway through the third period when the Mus- kies pulled ahead. Doug Christie had a penal- ty shot in the final few minutes of the game but Jamieson was equal to that as well. Uxbridge is in the league cellar but it was hard to tell on Sunday night, which team was the cellar dweller. Bob Sinclair took advant- age of mistakes by Uxbridge as they tried to move the puck out along the boards. He scored with a quick wrist 20; Chris Stockton, Rock Burne 20; Eric Griffen, Oshawa 18; Neil McLaugh- lin, Utica 13. shot to open the scoring. There were a few good chances by the Gord Scott, John Scott, Doug Christie combination and also Page and Evans missed on shots. The game was dull and although the Flamingos out- shot Uxbridge their play was uninspired. Scott Little was in net and made some, good stops but was helped by the pipes on a couple of occasions as well. No scoring at all in the second and the teams traded goals in the third period. Gord Scott fired one past Cordingly from brother John and Christie, and Uxbridge retaliated shortly after. The goal seemed to give Uxbridge some extra spark and it was all Port Perry could do to preserve the 2-1 win. The Flamingos have two games on the road, Dec. 21 in Stouffville, and on Boxing Day (Dec. 26) in Bowman- ville. The Central Ontario Jr. "C"" All Star game will be played December 27 in Cobourg with John and Gord Scott, and Doug Christie representing the Port Perry Flamingos on the team.
