A lovely lunch was served by the hostesses Mrs. Routley and Miss Eileen Hamill, and a social time spent together. The next meeting. will be held at the home of Mrs. D. Ashton, the second Wednes- day in June. A miscellanesds- shower was held in the Community Centre on Friday evening in honour of Miss Tawna Nichohchuch and Mr. Peter Brobell. Tawna and Peter were the recipients of many lovely gifts and we wish them much happiness in their married life. In spite of a very wet Sunday morning. there was a fair attendance at church. Mr. McEntyre's sermon 'Adjusting to Eternity", taken from St. Luke 12, was well - worth hearing and - remembering. The Junior Choir sang "I've Got the Joy"; and Mrs. Shepstone had charge of "Junior Church: Several women of the area attended the Women Alive Conference at Waterloo over the weekend. Congratulations to Mrs. Frank Lynde who celebrated' her 80th birthday on Sunday. Their family and friends 'gathered at the Community" Centre in the afternoon to extend to her their best wishes. Word was received here last week of the death of Mr. Robert Howsam of Toronto. The late Mr. Howsam's parents' and grandparents lived for many years on the Ath of Reach, and was well known in this area. He leaves to mourn; his wife, Kay, and two children, Leslie and Robert. one sister Hazel of Toronto and one brother Roy of Montreal. and * two grandchildren.
