They attended the funeral of his grandmother, Mrs. Olga Hill on Wednes- day. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mount- joy and son of Stouffville visited his parents, Mr, and Mrs. Bruce Mountjoy. Saturday guests of Mrs. Wilbert Archer were Mr. and 'Mrs. Elmer Archer of Whit- by. Sunday supper guests. were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Archer and daughter, Whit- by, Mr. and Mrs. Will Dugan of Minden, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Dugan and Nancy of Minden called enroute to visit friends in Oshawa. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Ormis- ton of Brooklin spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. George Bryant and family. The Guernsey Area Association held a snow- mobile party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Graham and family on - Saturday. Winners at the weekly Senior Citizens' Card Party on Tuesday evening with 18 tables were: 1st - Bruce Bright, 99; 2nd - Lulu Faint, 90; 3rd - Marg Moore, 86; 4th - Hazel English, 84; 5th - Yeoman Luke, 84; 6th - Erma Strong, 84. Low - Ross Dales... Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kelly visited Mr. and Mrs. John Medland and Barbara of Brooklin on Thursday even- ing. Quite a number of local farmers attended the annual Machinery Show in Toronto Reports on successful Blackstock Fair The annual meeting was held on Wednesday evening in the Township Hall with a good attendance. President John Wolters presided for the evening's business. John in his president's address stressed the importance of the tremendous spirit of co-- operation that is so much a part of Blackstock Fair. Everyone is willing to help whenever needed. He reviewed our Blackstock Fair of 1975 which was so successful in every way. John extended his appreci- ation to the exhibitors, the directors, the excellent clean-up committee under the chairmanship of Keith VanCamp and to the secre- 'tary. He ended by saying that although Blackstock Fair is not big, it certainly is well-seasoned. After the minutes and cor- respondence, a favourable financial report was present- ed. It was noted that we still have a sizeable supply of History of Cartwright books for sale at $2.25 each. Contact the secretary to ob- tain your copy. Each section of the Fair reported on its efforts. Harold Swain presented the Hall Trophy and the Field Crop Trophy to the 1975 Field crop winner, Mr. Bob DeJong, with a few well- chosen words. The officers for the coming "year are President - John Wolters; 1st Vice-Pres. - Lawrence McLaughlin; 2nd Vice-pres. Jim Byers; Lady Director - Mae Shortridge; Sec.-Treas. Joyce Kelly. Merrill VanCamp intro- duced our guest for the even- ing, Mrs. E. Sutton, secre- tary-manager of the Peter- borough Exhibition, who in turn introduced Mrs. Norma Cornish, a director of the Peterborough Exhibition and the Crafts Convenor of the Fair Board Convention to be held February 18 and 19 in Toronto. The two ladies carried on an informal but most inform- ative dialogue which dealt with many features of Fair work. Questions were invit- ed from the meeting which brought forth an interesting discussion. Jim Byers presented each lady with a plant as a token of our appreciation and expressed our thanks as well. Cookies and coffee along with a social time concluded a fine meeting. Guests at a family supper on Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bryans and family were Mr. John Lloyd, Purple Hill, Mr. and Mrs. * Wilf Brown and Debbie, Courtice, Mrs. Virginia Fairey and family, Mr. Larry Piper, Mr. and Mrs. Vic Hane and Traci, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Killens and family, all of Bowmanville.
