This, of course, was after regular classes and a hearty lunch in the church basement. Many thanks to Frank Branton for all the muscle work he put into cleaning of the ice Saturday so we could all enjoy our skating party. During our Sunday School session Todd Nesbitt visited the birthday box with his few coins. 'Parents and children are reminded that next week begins a trial period of hold- ing Sunday School at the same hour as Church. A letter is being sent to all parents inviting them to come to church with their children for the 10 a.m. service then during the ser- vice the children will leave to attend their classes in the basement. Parents will meet with their children after Church, approximately 11 a.m. again. A big "thank-you" goes out to all those who helped support our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts by attending the dance at Club Annrene Sat. evening. A substantial amount of money was raised for this very worthwhile group. Lets hear it for Sea- grave - Hurrah! Monday evening Unit 2 UCW met at the home of Mrs. Ron Crosier for their first meeting of the new year. Mrs. Marilyn Puckrin is our new leader and Mrs. Joan Durward is our Sec. Treasurer. New ideas for fund raising were discussed with a "travelling supper" tentatively planned for early new bride and new recipes are always welcome in any others kitchen. Thank you to our hostess, Barb, for wel- coming us into her home on that snowy night. We are always ready to' welcome new faces into our group and meet once a month in each others homes for an evening of relaxed fun, discussion and short worship. Please Mr. and Mrs. William Purchase of Kingston spent a few days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Edward Weinhold. Alaine and Jason Wein- hold accompanied their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. J. Beletch to the Ice Follies in Toronto last week to watch their niece Miss Kim Harper perform. Earl and Joan Durward and guest, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Durward and family and My. and Mrs. Bob Dur- ward and family. We hope by now that Mrs. Jim Durward is feeling better and home from hospi- tal. A group of Seagravers enjoyed the weekend at Nor Loch Lodge, Dwight with 180 babies born in hospital The regular monthly meeting of Womens Hospital Auxiliary was held in the hospital on Monday Jan. 19 with 23 ladies present. Presi- dent Mrs. Pugh welcomed all present and the meeting was opened by all repeating the auxiliary prayer, Minutes of the Decem- ber meeting were read and adopted. Mary Cannon, act- ing as secretary in absence of Norma Crowell. Bonnie Gerrow reported on the gen- eral finances and Camille Crozier for the Tuck Ship. Both departments showed encouraging bank balances. Marion Webster report- ed 7 girls and 6 boys born in hospital during the past month and 180 babies born during the year of 1975. Appreciation was expressed to Scugog Grace U.C.W. for the lovely layette sent in for the hospital, also to all ladies who sent in handknitted art- icles of booteés, sweaters and mitts. Thank you to friends and organizations who have sent in donations. Meeting regretted being asked to accept a resignation from - Norma - Crowell,--our recording secretary." We hope to have this position .. filled next month. Mrs. White, Director of Nursing who was present at the meeting expressed her gratitude for the toys which had been purchased for the Childrens Ward. In her remarks she stated that the Volunteer Services program 'was going very well and more workers could be used, anyone interested may get in touch with Mrs. White at the hospital. The need of a croupette for the Children's Ward was mentioned and the use of this equipment was explained. . Meeting decided this would be pur- chased to be used in the Childrens Ward. May 15 was set as a tentative date for the Annual Spring Fair. More details later. Marry Cannon and Jeanne Elliott will be a" committee to get informa- tion on a Fashion Show. Next meeting is to be held Feb. 16th in the hospital. It is hoped that all members will pay their membership fees for 1976.
