Jeffery On Christmas Day, Mr. and Mrs. A. Christie and daugh- ter Darlene entertained Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Martin of Bowmanville and their daughter, Linda, Mrs. Harry Littler, Mr. Littler and their wee daughter, Shawn Christie of Thornhill, and Mr. John Begin of Toronto, also neighbour, Lionel Drew. = | Mr. and Mrs. Murray Empringham and son, Duane, of Port Perry were with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. Brawn for Christmas. The Hansen home was a busy place, too. Linda and Barbara of Toronto, Carol, Karen and Judy of Calgary, Jim of Scarborough joined Mother, Father, John, Tom and Carl for a very Merry Christmas at home. Mr. Reg Parrott of Port | Perry was in the vacinity renewing old friendships on December 25. He is a former neighbour. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cawker of Port Perry, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cawker, Peterborough, and Mr. Chas. Bourgeois of Port Perry, called to visit Mrs. Katharine Cawker. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hough- land and children visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Taylor on Christmas Day. We were so pleased to hear from Bob and Bev Thomp- son and to learn that both will be ordained in May. We wish them much joy in their chosen work. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Watson of Ajax was supper guests with his parents on Satur- day. They were returning from a visit with Cathy's parents at Collingwood. On Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Brawn were supper guests with Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Johns of Coldwater. Mr. and Mrs. Barry Bushell entertained his par- ents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bushell, his sister, Mrs. Bill Knowles and Mr. Knowles of Scarborough, also his brother, Robert and his friend, Cindy Gray, of Sutton. Mrs. John Wilson of Man- chester, her daughter, Janice (Mrs. Buckley) and her two children of Cold- water called on Mrs. Brawn one day last week. Mrs. Jack Mitchell and children, also were holiday visitors at the Brawn home. On Saturday evening, Mr and Mrs. Doug Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Evans, Mr. and Mrs. David Simmonds, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sim- monds were entertained at "ing for three years. the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Barnes. Mrs. Hildreth Lyons had the family all home for Christmas breakfast, then Mrs. Lyons, Darleng and David visited for the remainder of the day with Mrs. Sadie Lyons and family of Uxbridge. Shame! 1 have an Azelae that hasn't stopped flower- It had thirty flowers on it for Christmas and is now loaded with buds for easter. The answer seems to be a cool, bright window, no artificial light and sufficient water after a long lazy summer under the old spruce tree. 1 have had a poinsetta even longer. It also required the same treatment, especially no artificial light in October and November or it will not form flower buds. My Christmas cactus didn't come out for Christmas but is loaded with buds. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ash- ton called on Miss Vera Prentice and Mrs. Gladys McCullock who are both patients in Uxbridge Cottage Hospital. We do wish these friends a speedy recovery. Our sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. H. Bertrand. Mrs. Bertrand's father passed away suddenly on Christmas day. The Card family were all home for their traditional Christmas breakfast. Then Mr. and Mrs. Card and family joined the Geer families at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Geer for dinner on Boxing Day. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Card have three nieces with them for a few days, holidays, Sherri and Jackie Warren of Port Perry and Robin Benns of Uxbridge. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Taylor went to Owen Sound on a Harvestore tour. On Christmas Day, they visited his mother and sister Ruth in Cannington. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wilson are celebrating a belated Christmas today (Monday). Mr. and Mrs. Keith Wilson and family of Sarnia, Rev. and Mrs. Ploy Wilson of Oshawa, and Mrs. Douglas Wien. Mr. J.
