Now Santa Claus presents and the Christmas Tree are the meaning of. Christmas to many people. Yet all these things represent the fact Jesus was born. Presents came from the fact that wise Kings gave Jesus presents of myrrh, gold and frankencense and how we have Santa Claus for the same reason. The Christmas Tree was invented by a German who was coming home one night and saw a tree which the stars in the sky seemed to cling to. He wanted to share this sight with his family, so when he got home he put candles on a tree in the garden. Later it was used at Christmas to represent the fact that Jesus was the Light of the World. Many ask why we"hang stockings and how that custom came about. In New Amsterdam there was the old custom of putting shoes by the fireplace for Saint Nicholas to fill with toys and candy. If you say Saint Nicholas many times you will understand how the word Santa Claus came about. soon shoes where changed to stockingbut still we are dwelling on the fact that Jesus Christ was born in Bethleham by the virgin Mary. - Christmas is a time of Joys, Time a holy babe was born, For all to love and adorn.
