" Decorated, colourful. ASL is A" fi Shoda ew THE MAN DRESSED IN RED As the clock struck twelve, I climbed out of bed, Hoping I'd see him, That man dressed in red. I tip-toed through the hallway, Then into our front room. I hid behind the curtain, I knew he would come soon. Then all of a sudden, I heard the jingle of a bell, That man must be here now, Yes, I can tell! Then, before I knew it, . I heard a great big "plop!" He had- come down our chimney Without one little stop! He picked himself up, And looked about the place, He looked at our Christmas tree, With a smile on his face. After he had placed The gifts under the tree, He glanced back at the room And went to the chimney. He climbed up the chimney But he didn't fall. And the last thing I heard was, "Merry Christmas to All". Sandra Little Cartwright C.P.S. Grade 7 Port Perry Star Christmas Edition -- Monday, Dec. 22, 1975 -- 7 My Christmas memories of Rick I was so happy when you came out to Port Perry to see the Santa Claus parade and visit with me last December, We didn't get to see each other very often but when we did get together we always had so much fun, swimming and fishing in the summer and skating and tobogonning in the winter, and even play- ing tricks on our parents. I remember last Christ- mas how we talked to.each other on the telephone nearly every night and told each other how we had shooped and peaked, and found out what we were getting for Christmas. We talked on the telephone Christmas Eve and made our plans for Christmas Day. You were coming out to your Grandparents for Christmas Day and you were going to bring your new skates out with you and we were going to go skating in the after- noon. : I waited and waited all day for you Rick but you didn't come. Right after I had my Christmas dinner with my family I found out why you didn't come. I know I will never see you again Rick and the loss of my best friend still hurts, espec- ially now at Christmas time. I still remember you Rick and all of the good times we shared and how I wish you could be with me this Christ- mas, This story is in memory of my best friend Ricky Fraser who died bravely last Christ- mas Eve.
