Then one minute later Smits came back with a goal by Ken Nightingale from Ron Crawford. Then at 4:55 Nightingale scored his sec- ond goal from Carl Marco to go ahead and win the game. CAWKERS BUTCHERS 1 UTICA AUTO BODY 1 With end to end action the goalies were the big asset of . such a close game with excellent saves coming from both nets. It wasn't until 4:48 of the sccond period when Bill Hunter put one past the Utica goalie with the assist to Allan Luck to put Cawkers ahead 1-0. Then just ten seconds into the third period Mike Mitchell scored from Ron Redman to tie up the game at one apiece. This proved to be the final goal of the game. WHITBY K.R.COULTER 1 The play was very defens- ive with neither team pick- ing up a goal in the first two periods. Then things started rolling late 'in the third per- ind at 10:35 when Coulters player Ralph Fairman scor- ed from Ken Knight to -put them ahead 1-0. Then at 11:40 Whitby came back with a goal by Bill Down from Ken Down to tie it up. With less than a minute to goin the game Whitby pick- ed up two unanswered goals. The first one at 14:13 by Bill Down and then just eight seconds later they scored again by Murray Down from Wayne Church. This ended the game at 3-1.
