He has big ideas, big ambit- ions, a big heart, has made big things happen in his time, and undoubtedly will make big things happen in the future. : ' Port Perry's recent over- night guest was Frenchie yet to penetrate. Far from it. Frenchie was born and raised in Sudbury. His parents are from New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. As a youngster of five or six, he used to go to the local wrestling matches with his mothér. He swore he'd' graduate from shining shoes in Sudbury and become a champion midget wrestler. . "Strange," says Frenchie, gyped him financially, he said, and she took him for everything he had. "You know how it is when you're in love...."" says Frenchie. "You'll do most anything." Frenchie's luck has turned up dhtely, since Claude Desharnais has taken over as 'his manager. "I owe a lot to the guy," he said, "and I've learned a lot." hiring only the handicapped to sell his line of specialties. "I suppose he feels more involved because of his handicap. But through working with the manager and crippled people in general, Frenchie has come to the realization that there are worse things than being a midget. "'Iused tobe bitter about it, but no more," he said. midget wrestler, but also the world's strongest midget. The 100-pound bundle of muscle has already lifted 530 pounds over his head, and is now working on 600 pounds or more (to he done with a harness). He alsd"plans a "wrestling round the world" tour....his second....in the near future. He'll take in Hawaii, Japan, France, and other countries. As for his next fight, he thinks that it might be in Montreal against Sky Lolo, he figures. "Whenever the next victim challenges me," he says, unpretentiously. And that about tells the story. :
