N un behalf of this,commun- ity I wish to convey a warm * welcome and equally warm wish for success in their new endeavour, to Mr, and Mrs. P: Niemi of Caesarea. The Niemi family have recently - purchased the former Caes- area Food Market that was, until approx. fpur years ago, the Eric Michna store, which most of us were familiar with. The new store is indeed an asset to the community. The entire family worked night and day to have every- thing in readiness for the opening on August 15th. The Niemis have also purchased the cabins and home of Mr. and Mrs. Murdo MacGregor of Caesarea. Good luck folks. Mr. and Mrs. Armando Fiquerido owner and operat- ors of the All 'Flags Service Station on highway 7A, west of Nestleton village have certainly ad many pleasant surprises as of late. Approx. two weeks ago tfiree of Ar- mando's brothers paid a sur- prise visit and last week a -. boyhood friend whom he had - not seen in eighteen years also visited. The human mind is capable of being thrown at aloss with disassociation and thus was the case with Armando. He did not recog- nize his old friend, because he was not forewarned and of course the friend Mr. Bert Pousada and his lovely wife Sylvia could not resist the temptation to tease Armando during their entire visit. I personally cannot bring to mind anyone that is so de- serving of pleasant events in their lives than Armando and Manchester "News Church Sunday August 31 at 11:15. Rev. B. R. Pogue in charge. These girls have been very well deserving of the smallest of compliments, Many people have remarked - on their prompt, courteous and pt congenial way in which they serve the patrons of this bake shop and lunch room. I do not know the girls by name, with the exception of Kim. ' The Nestleton - United Church women played host- ess on Wednesday evening to the beautiful bride to be of Mr. Rick Campbell, 'Miss Sharalyn Reader of Will- iam's Point. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Campbell may well be proud of their son's choice for Sharalyn is indeed all that The winner was yours truly. Sharalyn thanked the UCW and the guests for their kindness, as did her mother. On behalf of the community may I extend wishes for the best that life has to offer to the future Mr. and Mrs. Rick one would hope for in a 'Campbell. May God guide daughter-in-law. Earl was the owner, of the store in View Lake and known by all. May God be with the family in this their hour of sorrow. Get well wishes are con- veyed to our ill. May good health return to each of them quickly. : . And I think that I'm con- fused regarding Bell Canada as of late. Last week 1, once again, phoned repair service. It was just after five-thirty p.m. I let it ring 15 times on three attempts to reach them. Finally I asked the operator to try and reach them for me. After the same process that I *had gone through she informed me 'Nestleton, Caesarea and area news o that the repair service was closed but she would connect me to Central Repair. Well that was fine with me as long . as the problem with my darn phone was rectified. A gentle- man answered and as per usual asked the same old questigns, such as where we live, our phone number, lot and concession number, etc. I gave him the required information, I even told him that we were of the Black- stock exchange. After all this he calmly asked me if that was in the Owen Sound or Oshawa area ... I give up. Just-a thought ... Would it not be nice if Bell Canada and Ontario Hydro had a little competition?
