BOWMANVILLE - Staff at a local golf club decided to see how many balls they could recover from a pond near one of the holes on that course recently. Over 2,500 balls were recovered in a short time, and it is believed that another 100 or so may still be in the pond. As one member said 'Now they'll sell them back to us and we will knock them right back into the pond again". BOWNMANVILLE - As report- ed a couple of weeks ago, the Canadian Statesman papers headed for Hampton from Bowmanville got lost. But hark! They have been found. After about a 2,500 mile side trip to Hampton, New Bruns- wick, and back the papers have finally reached their destination. Switch arena teen dances from Sunday to Saturday Oshawa promoters of Port Perry Arena teen dances have switched the dances to Saturday night from Sunday in an attempt to appease arena area neighbours. But promoters say it is impossible to "cool it" due to the echo in the building and the volume demanded by sector expenditures.
