Mr. and Mrs. Ross Evans and family visited Mr. and Jnis Last Sunday, the weather was ideal when our church congregation commenorated the 50th anniversary of Church Union. Two young men, Terry: Hodgins and Lloyd Pereman greeted the folk'on arrival for the special service. The sanctuary was filled to capacity with people who had travelled miles to be present or had roots in this area. A basket of white chrysanthemums graced the chancel as a silent tribute to the deceased, whose, in the past, valuable contributions meant a great deal to the life of the Church. The Historical choir, under the direction of Mr. N. Watson was appre- ciated. Organ accompani- ment was by Mrs. B. Snel- grove. The minister, Rev. R. Brawn, voiced a welcome to everyone and introduced the guest speaker, the Rev. Prof. K. Joblin, who delivered a suitable message from which we grasped much. Following the service, the people were invited to the church parlors where the U.C.W. served lunch, including the special decorated cake. This social hour lent an opportunity to reminisce and renew friend-- they also ships, while browsed over old photos and aged articles displayed on the heirloom table. I think one could easily say all who, attended and assisted helped make the special service possible. . Next Sunday service at the usual hour, 11:30 a.m. Congratulations to the Trans on their second year at the General Store; and a mammoth attendance of the NEWS Mrs. Elmer Wilson and Douglas on Saturday even- ing.
