The Uxbridge Sunday Night Hockey League put out Wednesday, Mar. 19, 1975 Greenbank and area news the Sunderland team 4 to 3 in a playoff game in Uxbridge on Sunday evening. Next series to be with St. John's. Several local boys play hockey with the Uxbridge team. Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Hunter have returned from a vacation in Florida and Wheeling, West Virginia, where they attended the "Grand Old Opry", At the March meeting of the Fidelis Unit U.C.W. at the home of - Mrs. Rodd Foster, it was decided to pur- chase four dozen silver spoons commemorating the 50th anniversary of church union. Proceeds from sale of the spoons will go the United Church Youth Exchange program. Dates for U.C.W. members to keep in mind are as follows: a coffee and macrame party at the manse on March 25 at 9:30 a.m., also the U.C.W. regional rally on May 15 at Green- bank Church. A large number of ladies from this community attended a miscellaneous shower in honour of Miss Lynda Diceman at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Diceman, Port Perry. Bill Hunter's team came out on top at the Junior Farmer Bonspiel , held in Sunderland on Sunday. Also . curling with Bill were Judy Passmore, Keith Rodd and Donna Riseborough. Greenbank Afternoon UCW The afternoon U.C.W. held their regular meeting on Wednesday, March 5th at 2 p.m. at the manse. The roll call was answered by 17 members and one visitor. Mrs. Thomas convened the meeting with Mrs. Diamond, Mrs. Lee, Mrs. Thomson and Mrs. Leask taking part. The Call to worship was given by Mrs. Thomas on "Easter" Mrs. Leask took the topic on "Thought on Easter" and "What Does Easter Mean to You?" Mrs. Mero and Mrs. Leask accompanied by Mrs. Till rendered a beautiful duet, "Neath the Old Olive Trees'. Mrs. Abernathy reported on 'Stewardship'. Murs. spencer reported that the U.C.W.
