Lee chairing the meéet- ing. Sr. Sandy, Day, Record- ing Secretary read the minutes from the previous meeting. Financial Secret- ary Sr. Marg Lee then sub- mitted the financial report. We, the members of Lady Snowbird, (Canadian Fores- ters) are pleased to welcome two new Social members to our Court. They are in the persons of Mrs. Judy Shephard of Caesarea and Mrs. Mary Brown of Bow- manville. Correspondance was read. as was a thank you card from Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto for our donation to assist in furnish- ing a new wing in that re- nowned Cancer hospital. The ladies then passed a motion: to have the Community Cen- tre floor redone at their expense. It is such a lovely hall that as members of the community we enjoy assist- ing with the little extras that periodically arise in order to, keep it that way. On March the 22nd, members are celebrating their ninth year as a Charter with an evening of cards, darts or whatever, following dinner. Our husbands shall enjoy this evening with us. This is just for members only. It was decided to donate $25.00 to Lawrence Colledge of Caesarea and Paul Kris- tensen of the Blackstock area to, in a small way, assist in defraying their ex- penses on their trip to Swe- den. Plans were finalized for the members that are atten- ding the Eastern Ontario Provincial Assembly to be held in the 401 Inn in Peter- borough, on April the 18th dentures provided. An- other wedding of interest Lady Snowbird shall cater to, is that of Miss Kathy Jackson, the pretty daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Jackson of Port Perry to Mr. Robert McLaren. This young couple shall be wed on June the 21st. There are two more wed- dings that we shall cater to, both of local interest .. but I shall mention that at a later date. The meeting closed ac- cording to Ritual and the ladies offered a thank you to Mrs. Jean Williams, who Nursing Home News Tuesday church service was taken by Rev. McEntyre assisted by Mr. Causeway, pianist and choir. The lesson was based on the Psalm "The Ford is My Shepherd" and St. John Chapter 10, verse 7. Following the ser- vice, lunch was served by the ladies from the church. Thursdays bingo saw nine- teen players present. Win- ners were Mrs. Myers, Mrs. Percy, Mrs. Letcher, Mr. Hamilton, Mr. C. Smith, Mr. Kerry, Mrs. Byers, Mr. Samells, Mr. Moroz. Several won full cards. All had a pleasant evening. Lin has been quite ill for several weeks and we, her friends do hope that life looks much better for her quickly. We miss you Lin, so hurry and get well. On March 1st, in a quietly beautiful ceremony, held in the home of the Rev. and Mrs. Mellow of Oshawa, Susan Bolan-Hurren, our daughter, became the bride of the handsome Garry A. son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Atherton of North- brook, Ont. Attending Sue was her sister Mrs. Lynda - Kellar of Kedron. Warren Atherton the groom"s broth- er acted as best man. A host of family and friends gather- ed for a huge reception in honour of the happy couple. May happiness be there's always. Just a thought... What a rewarding feeling parents aquire when on her wedding day, a lovely daughter looks at you... with tears in her happy eyes and simply utters, "thanks Mom and thanks Dad".
