After losing the opening game 4-1 at home the Flamingos bounced back to trounce the Muskies 7-1 in their home arena in one of their best performances of the season. Wayne Cordingly played an outstanding game in goal for the local club and held eo the Muskies off the score sheet until his mates started to score. Neil McLaughlin playing one of his finest games in a Flamingo uni- form scoring three goals with Bob Marquis netting a pair. Andy Litt and Paul Hadden scored single mark- ers with Steve Doyle reply- ing for Lindsay. On Thursday night the Flamingos moved into a 2-1 game lead in the series as they again defeated the Muskies by a 5-4'score in a thrilling overtime game. Robin Kydd lead the Flamingos in this game with three goals including the tieing goal with 28 seconds left in the game and his third of the night came in sudden death overtime. The Flamingos on Friday night travelled to Lindsay ® and dropped a poorly played game by a 6-2 score with Carlo Camazzolo notching _ both Flamingo goals. On Sunday night in Port Perry the Trent-Muskies moved ahead in the series by a game by taking a well played hard fought 5-2 game. The Lindsay Club at one point held a 3-0 lead on goals by Mike Hadley, Don East- man and Jim Coombs, but the local team worked hard to narrow the score to 3-2 going into the final frame on goals by Rick Campbell and Ken Jeffrey. In the third period the Flamingos were both unlucky and unfortunate as time after time Larry Al- ldred made many excellant saves in the Lindsay goal and with less than 2 minutes to play the Muskies added goals by Steve Richardson and Jim Coombs with his second to salt away the game. The sixth game in the series was played last night, Tuesday, in Lindsay and if the Flamingos were fortun- ale to fight back and even the series the seventh and decid- ing game will be in Port Perry on Thursday March the 13th. There was a very poor turnout. However, with such a good snowfall, this could be expected. As you already know our races at the fair grounds were can- celled because of poor weather but the following week, drag races were held on the lake. This was the first attempt and it was a huge success. It was agreed to sent Ross and Jean Short to Ottawa to represent the Club at the 0.F.S.C. Convention in April. Next dance is going to be held on March 29th and it is hoped to be a sell-out. Membership is now up to 185 families.
