\ Sait STI -- «NT . ~ A a { 30 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, Dec. 11, 1974 PeeWees show impressive form win three consecutive games - Tuesday, December 3, the Legion Pee Wee's travelled to the Don Beer Arena and blanked the home side 3 to 0, extending their winning streak in league play to 3 straight. This was the second suc- cessive shut-out for the goal- tending duo of Myers-Frans- sen. Durward again preser- ved the shut-out as he did in the previous game by clear- ing a puck that had gotten by the goaltender and except for his alert play would probably have resulted in a goal. This was a solid team effort with Durward setting the pace from the opening whistle with aggressive checking and puck control. Most of the boys followed his lead and kept the West Rouge attack bottled up for most of the mght. 'I'ne line of Brown, Burnett and Potts continues to dominate when they are on the ice. The improved play of Menzies on the right side of one line and the leadership of Durward at centre on the other line have been big plus factors in the teams recent © string of victories. Friday, December 6, the Legionaires hosted Union- ville in an exhibition game. Port came out the victors by a close 4 to 3 score. Brown ° who played a strong game throughout notched the win- ner with just two seconds left in the game. Both teams missed several scoring opportunities and with a little hunting luck, the score could have been much higher. This was the Legion- aires fourth straight victory.
