Miss Dorothy Brown very ably directed a varied pro- gramme consisting of num- bers by the rhythm band of primary tots, skits, plays, solos with guitar accom- paniment, carols and choruses. Congratulations and thanks to Dorothy, the Sunday School Superinten- dent, Mr. Don Asling, Mrs. Earl Elson, the pianist, the teachers and the boys and girls who used their talents to make the evening a mean- ingful introduction to the Christmas Season. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Neal of Mount Forest called on Mrs. James E. Mitchell last week. Mrs. Mitchell attend- ed the Milt Parkin sale at Kinsale on Saturday. and reported a very satisfactory sale. Best Wishes go with Grace and Milt as they move to their home in Brooklin. Mrs. Bruce Bailey and Miss Norma Urquhart of Uxbridge called on Mrs. Violet Skerratt in Port Perry. We are pleased that Scugog Island The Mystery Sister Supper for the "Head" Community ladies was everything that could have been hoped for. A very special thanks to Bonnie Gerrow, Helen Fedyk and Joyce Heayn who shared their talents in decorating, inviting guests, planning the menu and meal. Much gratitude is felt for the four ladies from "Grace" U.C.W. who offered their services in cleaning up. After a very delicious meal, the 40 ladies shared Christmas gifts, got acquainted with new resid- ents and spent an informal evening with fun in games, contests and tests of skill. We missed several of our ailing Mystery _ Sisters. Sandra Taylor and Marion Hughes had contracted miserable colds, Lil Moore was in hospital with two broken bones in her foot, Ethel Redman is still taking therapy after her surgery, but is now in the Oshawa Hospital. Next year we hope to meet more. Other ailing people on Scugog," are, Charlie Emp- ringham, recovering from surgery, Bill Wingrove who had surgery behind his ear, Mrs. G. Chamberlain was hospitalized with illness of undetermined source, Mur- ray McLaren is soon to have a cataract removed. We do hope these health problems will soon be solved and all will enjoy life again. Mrs. Grace Love has just returned from another three week trip in connection with the Lodge. Don't forget White Gift Sunday, December 8 at Grace Church. Jr. Choir, Cubs and Scouts are taking part. Children are invited to bring gifts of food wrapped in white while older people will contribute their gifts in special envelopes. The following week will be the Christmas concert. We are now in the season of Advent, a time to make us remember. On Sunday, Rev. Pogue talked te the children about the symbols of Christ- mas enphasizing that the light, represented by many symbols, is so very import- ant to life.
