Performing the installation ceremony of the Kinsmen was Terry Taggert, District Treasurer and a member of Oshawa Kinsmen Club. Nursing Home News On Monday evening the Kinettes of Port Perry showed films. One on the early days in Canada, which was enjoyed by all. They served a delicious lunch and there was a good attendance. Tuesday evenihg Mrs. Brawn of Port Perry United Church gave a very inspiring talk. The opening hymn was, What A Friend We Have In Jesus. The service was taken from Ephesians, Chapter 3, 'Verses 17 - 19. Mrs. Brawn gave a talk on "Bloom where you are planted," closed with a hymn and prayer. On Thursday evening we had the usual Bingo game with Mrs. D'Yong and McNenely in charge and a very good attendance. The winners were, ladies Mrs. Balque, Letcher, Percy, Phoenix, Smallman, Clark, Byers, Pearcy and David- son. The men, Mr. Abbott, Morez, C. Smith, Brown, Samells, Fisher, W. Smith and Davidson. . A number of the residents have been out on Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday there were a lot of visitors to the home. As you all know this has been Nursing Home Week and we have had a lot of visitors, some from out of town, and as far away as Chilliwack, B.C. Mrs. Ron Louchfoot. Also we were glad to see Bro. Tony McNaughton who used to be on staff here and is now in Washington, D.C. studying theology. We wish to thank all the folks who made the special effort to visit us. during Nursing Home Week. There were 198 visitors. . The Kinsmen Club of Port Perry for some reson chose to elect a police officer to head the club last year. Tuesday, last week Bob Findlay a member of the OPP retired from the position of president and in his place another OPP officer, John Ross was installed.
