Toronto and Mr. and Mrs. Hal Martin and son Adam. PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, June 19th, 1974-21 Busy summer for Senior Citizens The regular Wednesday meetings are now over for the summer. On Sept. 11th we shall begin another year. We ask all members to make a special effort to attend this meeting and help elect a new slate of Officers. The final meeting June 26th will take the form of a dessert lunch and social afternoon. The Saturday night eu- chres will continue through- out the summer and we trust they will be well attended. Although the Wednesday meetings are over for the time being, we have many activities to attend during the summer. On June 20th we shall enjoy a bus trip to the Woodbine Race Track where it is Sr. Citizens day and we are all invited guests. On July 3rd the area picnic is being held at Oshawa Park. On July 17th we are plann- ing to entertain the Uxbridge Sr. Citizens. who previously entertained us. On August 20th and 21st Mr. Stan Ploughman and the President. Mr. P. Willis will represent the club at the Sr. Citizens Convention - this Tax increases for Whitby Tax increases for the av- erage Whitby taxpayer will range from $45 to $70 this year, council decided at its final budget meeting Wed- nesday. The bowling is finished until September when we have been fortunate enough to again get the lanes for Thursday afternoon at the Bowling Alley. The last draw given by Ballard Lumber was won by Mrs. Doris Healey. Many of our hospitalized members have returned and we were glad to see them back with us again. We feel we have had a very successful year. We are lo- cated in the Latcham Centre and through the New Hor sons grant, we have furnish ed the Club Room beyond our wildest hopes We now have a member- ship of 141 and welcome new members. Anyone wishing to join with us, we'll see you at the Latcham Centre on Sep tember 11th at 2 p.m. The meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of cach month. May we thank our Officers for the past year and congra- tulate them for a job 'Well Done'. Trusting you all have a healthy and happy two months and that we will all be together again in Septem- ber.
