Ww Le Seagrave and area news We hope that the Star has some space left on that last page for the Seagrave news which this week includes. so many Mother's Day items. And what a day! The only sad note was that we heard of the death of Mrs. Millie Curl after years of poor health. Mrs. Curl will be missed as housekeeper at the Colwell home where she has spent many years. Her fune- ral will be on Tuesday. Sunday was a red-letter day for our babies and their parents. At the church ser- vice, 6 young children were presented for baptism. Two of these were daughters of former Seagrave ladies. The children presented were: Jody Skelton, daugh- ter of. Mr. and Mrs. John Skelton of Richmond Hill. Laurie Ann Robinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Robinson of Oshawa, Tara Lynn Puckrin, daugh- ter of Mr.and Mrs. Roy Puckrin, Leslie Durward, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earle Durward, Marlene Hutcheon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Hutcheon and Scott Foster, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Foster. Allis-Chalmers QDR POWER? The Dur- ward family seem to have made the greatest contribu- tion to the crowd, but we can't possibly name them ° all. Because 2 grandchildren Jody Skelton and Leslie Durward were in the line up, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Durward held a real family get-toget- her at their home. After the service. Guests other than their own family were Mrs. ~ Earle Durward"s parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Leslie of Oshawa, Mrs. Marion Skelton of Richmond Hill, and Mr. Glen Allen and friend of Oshawa. That wasn't quite a busy enough day so several members of the family went to Oshawa in the afternoon to attend the christening of yet another grandchild, Sylvia Grace Durward, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Murray Durward. We just mention in passing that, that family have a birthday party all planned for Wednesday when they will honour Mrs. Jas. Dur- ward, Mrs. Earle Durward and Lorna. Litle Miss Robinson drew admiring glances from her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Lloyd and her Lloyd uncles. As has happened in the past the Puckrin family rose, to the occasion so Mr. and Mrs. Roy Puckrin found themselves entertaining Mr. and Mrs. Fred Puckrin and Diane of Pickering, Mr. and Mrs. Elfher Harris of Cam- bray. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mitchell of Claremont, Mrs. Earle Davis of Oshawa and -Mr. and Mrs. Ralph New- ton and Chris of Hampton as well as the Keith Puckrins. Marlene Hutcheon had her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Taylor of Goodwood for a visit after the church ser- vice. The Fosters had a great- grandmother in the person of Mrs. M. Stone attending Scott's Christening party. Other guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Ken Rodd and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gibson of Green- bank, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Walsh of Whitby, Ronald and Kathy Howman of Oshawa, Mr. and Mrs. Colin Haines and family of Caesarea, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Ball of Port Perry and of course the Don Beacock family.
