Open House at Ives Florists Open House held Saturday and Sunday at the popular green house on the 6th Con. of Reach was enjoyed by a large number of guests who enjoyed the lovely display of flowers. . The hundreds of boxes of garden plants were strong and healthy. One of the most interest-, ing displays was the new "Tomato House', where the plants were well over six feet tall, have much bloom and many well formed tomatoes and are growing in a gravel bed. Liquid food and water are regularly pumped into the beds and at the right time released. They expect to start havest- ing tomatoes in May. There- are so many in- teresting displays of dried flowers, it is hard to choose. There are very artistic forms of wrought iron orna- ments and [I especially liked the candelabra trimmed with Smilax. Fach lady was presented with a beautiful spring flo- wer before Jeaving and all enjoyed coffee, cookies and tarts. Our thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Ives for their gracious hospitality. This though planned in January, proved to be a busy week for the Ives family as her parents were celebrating their 50th Wed- ding Anniversary, flowers and funeral arrangements had to be prepared and in any spare time there is always transplanting to do. Spring is a busy time in a green house. 0.P.P.
