The boys played there hearts out to no end, and just wouldn't quit. The Opposition clubs knew that they were in a contest to win. The Goderich Signal Star had a paragraph in there pages that went like this. "Colborne learned a valu- able lesson. that a hockey game is never over, and that it takes 45 minutes of all out hockey, or a stronger team will capitalize as Col- borne found out." Port Perry Legion 6: Colborne 1. The Port Perry Legion Club lost no time, after Colborne took an early lead on a goal by Williams. This big youngster found out, that the kids from Port can check, and did they do a job on the Colborne team. Charlie Brown gave Port the lead in the period after George Burnett scored to tie game up, on a pass from Darrin Jobb. Carl Durward set the Brown goal up at the 12 sec. mark in the second period. Burnett made it 3 - 1 to end the second period on passes from Ashmore. Charlie Brown had to take 32 Seconds to notch his second goal of the game, with Cory Fellows assist- ing. Then George Burnett got the hat trick scoring his third goal from Jimmy Kane. Timmy Parker fin- ished off the scoring assist going to Jobb and Denis Franssen. Port Perry Legion 3: Point Edward 2.
