Hydro borrows from local bank Region Finance Commi- ttee recommended today (Wednesday) that the $20,000 Port Perry Hydro has asked to have debentured be borrowed at the local level. Hydro had obtained appro- val from the Ontario Munici- pal Board to raise the Money through debentures. How- ever, according to the law governing regional govern- ment, such debentures must be approved by the region council. The committee suggested 'that $20.000 is. "relatively small." and should * be obtained locally. When informed that Hydro has borrowed the money temporarily from a Port Perry bank the committee recommended that the loan be extended to cover the full repayment term.
