Flamingo Pastries Ltd. hosted another successful bonspiel Saturday, January 12, with 65 lady curlers taking part. This is the fourth annual bonspiel to be sponsored by Flamingo Pastries and it is proving to be more successful every year. First prize and trophy went to Marie Foster and her rink of Shirley Barr, vice, . Helen Parish, second stone, and Erlyne Young, lead. Second prize was won by Ruth Mitchell, Donna Fair- man, Jess Chambers and Marlene Doupe. Marge Mc- Coy with Jeanne Goode, Shirley Elliott, and Joyce Taylor took third prize. Fourth went to Clara Mar- tyn, Sandra Taylor, Ellen Gibson and Muriel Tassie and fifth went to Norma Howsam, Muriel Fisher, Vera Fawns and Roberta Baird. Peels 6; Haines 2; Jones and Larmer had a pair for Peels and singles went to Hall and Tran. Gunter and Knight did the scoring for Haines. Borelians plan for spring production The Borelians drama group is getting ready for another Spring. production. Since 1971 the Borelians have been offering an evening of entertainment to the people of the area twice a year. Their next production is "The Seven Lively Arts" by Harold Kennedy and Robert Koesis. Auditions are slated for Wednesday, January 23, at 8:00 p.m. in the Anglican Church Hall. Newcomers to the area are always welcomed whether their talents are acting, set design, lighting, makeup, properties or just "Can I Help." Winning streak PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, Jan. 16th, 1974 - 17 Bantams take three in a row Jan. 7, Port Perry Bantam showed their' class and defeated West Rouge on their home ice by a convinc- ing score of 7 - 3. Doug Larmer playing his first tough game came up with a big game in the nets for Port. The score after the first period was 2 - 2. Olsen and Elsen getting a goal each assists by Robt. Baird and Steve Jones. In the second period Port Pery took over and domin- ated the rest of the game by scoring 2 more goals by Ken Baird and Robt. Evans and Elson and Bill Bridge, West Rouge got .their final goal with 37 second to go in the game. Look for a good play off series between these 2 teams when they meet in February. Phil Cochrane scored the second goal assis- ted by McQuade and Steve Jones. Port Perry scored three more goals in the second period. Robert Baird from Ken Baird, Larry Elson un- assisted and McQuade from Phil Cochrane. Port Perry scored 6 more goals in the third period. Larry Elson got his 3rd goal of the night assisted by Wacket and Stu Cochrane. Stouffville spoiled Dough Larmer's shut out at 7:58 of the third period. In this game our Bantam Team put it all together and played a strong positional game. Everyone skated well and passed well. Fuzz Elson once again played a strong game and gave the Stouffville goalie a case of the jitters with his bullet shots from the point and set the pace with his rushing.
