Hansen and Mrs. Al Christie attended the "Tommy Hun- ter Show" at Lindsay Ex- hibition on Thursday night. The mercury dropped to the forties and everyone kept warm by clapping to keep the fingers warm. Otherwise they enjoyed the show. Mr. and Mrs. John Mit- chell are spending a two week vacation with friends in New Brunswick. Mrs. Wm. Gosling is visiting her daughter in Kin- cardine. Mr. and Mrs. Earl- Thompson of Victoria Cor- ners, visited the Brawn Family and Mr. Alpin Chris- tie on Sunday evening. Our U.C.W. meeting date has been changed. We will meet at Utica October 9. Mr. and Mrs. Barry Bushell visited Grandma Bushell in Owen Sound on Sat., then attended a cou- sin's Wedding. On Sunday evening they attended Car- velle United Church Ann- iversary. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bushell attend this church and Rev. James Bushell, Jack's son, was guest speaker. They enjoyed the special music by the Melodante Singers. We hope to have these singers conduct an "evening service at Good- wood United Church some- time in Nov. This will be a- service no one should miss. There will be more details at a later date. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ashton visited Mrs. Olive Searle in Uxbridge on Fri. evening. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Caw- ker of Nestleton called on Mrs. Cawker on Sun. after- noon. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ding- man and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Clark paid a visit to Epsom on Sun. evening. _ Faye Ashton, Ruth Ash- ton, Stella Asling and Lois Bushell held a Good News in Action meeting for York Prebyterial U.C.W. at Wes- ley Church at Vandorf on Tues., Sept. 18th to discuss what the church is doing for 'special people". We are asking for clot- hing for a bale to be brought to the U.C.W. Meeting. Guests at Richard's Bir- thday supper were Grandma and Grandpa Ashton, Grandma and Grandpa As- ling, Aunt Beth and Uncle Kenneth Catherwood and cousins Barry and Brian, also Chris and Stacey Brown. We are sorry to learn that Mrs. Norman Saunder- son is in Oshawa Hospital for surgery. Mr. Lloyd MacDonald is expected home from Port Perry Hospital to-day. Our sympathy to Mrs. Irene Jordon and family Joe, Carol and Dianne and their families in the loss of a loving husband, father and grandfather George Jordon who passed away at Port Perry Hospital on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Watson visited Friday and Sat. with their son Andrew and Mrs. Watson of Guelph. The main attraction was the meeting the first wee grand- son Michael Andrew. Grand -ma and Grandpa had been in British Columbia all sum- mer and had not seen the new arrival previously. Mr. and Mrs. H. Kerry visited Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Ashton of Ashburn on Sun. afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Catherwood and boy had Sun. dinner with Mr. and Mrs. H. Ashton then in the afternoon visited Miss Vera Prentice in Uxbridge Cot- tage Hospital. The bride is the daughter of Mr. dnd Mrs. George Timms of Saintfield and the groom is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. William Ward. Reverend Leslie Critch officiated at the double ring ceremony and the wedding music was provided by Mrs. David Lee. The church was decorated with pots of pink petunias. Mr. George Timms, brother of the bride, was the soloist who sang "Something," before the ceremony, and "We've Only Just Begun," during the signing of the register. The bride given in marriage by her father looked lovely in a floor length gown of layers of white nylon lace. The long sleeves and bodice were both sheer with a white floral design decorated with seedpearls. The full skirt fell to a short train. Her nylon tule veil was in layers with scalloped edges and was held by a cluster of nylon flowers. The bride carried a cascade of yellow mums and white glad. florets. Attending the bride as Maid of Honour was Mrs. Joanne Reesor, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Miss Susan Cookman, friend -Ward -- of the bride, Miss Marion Ward, sister of the groom and Miss Marie Timms, sister of the bride. The girls all wore identi- cal dresses of mauve and pink floral design with short puffed sleeves, and an empire waist with purple velvet ribbon. The low rounded necklines were accented with white collars. They carried crescents of yellow daisies and fuji mums. The groom's niece, Sheri Kime was the lovely flower girl who wore a pink dress with swiss dot, and was the same style as the brides- maids. She carried a basket of yellow poms and white fuji. Attending the groom as Best Man was Mr. David Grannine, friend of the groom. Ushers were Mr. Paul Harder and Mr. Terry Aldred, friends of the groom, and Mr. Joe Timms, brother of the bride. Master David Timms, nephew of the bride was Ring Bearer. A reception followed in the Church Parlours, and later a dance at Utica Community Hall with music by the Merry Makers. Receiving the bride's mother wore a pink dress with long sleeves and a V neck line. She chose white accessories and wore a corsage of white rose buds. She was assisted by the groom's mother, who RAS STERN AE PR chose a blue dress with a lace coat over top. She wore white accessories and a cor- sage of white rosebuds. Master of Ceremonies was Mr. Magil Darnley, friend of the bride and groom. Prior to her wedding, the bride was honoured at many WARM Ladies' WINTER lovely showers at the homes of Mrs. Etta Timms of Pickering, Mrs. Joanne Reesor of Port Perry, Mrs. Jackie Hill of Saintfield, and Mrs. Marie Foster of Greenbank.
